We had this ugly falling apart end table that was on its way out the door. Literally, it was sitting by the living room door waiting to be taken out to the trash. My husband and I had a brilliant idea. Let’s turn this table into a sticker table. When the kids come home with a sticker or name tag that they want to keep, they can stick on the table.
This worked very well for a while. They’d come home, no arguing or fussing, just put the sticker on the table. Then little brother began to climb and began standing on the table and using it to climb higher.
Sadly, we also began to reorganize the living room and we really needed more space. The sticker table needed to go. We took lots of pictures and the girls said goodbye.
The boys are not nearly attached to their stickers. They have usually lost them and then forgotten about them by the time they get home.
The girls still have trouble letting go. We tried a sticker book. That seems to help. Although they can never find it and we start another. I’ll deal with all the notebooks another day.
