Is is Saturday. Guess what that means? If you have kids like mine, that's easy. It means that they are up early. And not just early, early as in 'you don't have to drag them out of bed and beg them to get ready for school early.'
Monday through Friday two of my darlings go to school. We are pretty lucky that we live about 2 minutes from school and they don't need to get up THAT early. But everyday, it is 'get up' 'get your school clothes on'. 'get in the car', and more 'gets'.
Then there is Saturday. Most Saturdays are pancake day for breakfast, a tradition I started inspired by Mr. L. We have had regular pancakes, green pancakes, pink pancakes, and one their favorite, polka dotted pancakes. After you scoop the pancake mix on the griddle, dot them with food color (natural or artificial, whatever you have!) The kids love it.
So far my door has been opened twice and my kids have been told to "leave us alone." They have all tromped in here once and been told "leave me alone and go play." And now they are playing Hide and Seek like a thundering herd of elephants! Oh, and they are hungry.....
For those of you who live for the weekend because you can sleep in an extra hour or twelve. Good for you. The rest of us with kids live for the weekend so we can not sleep and spend those not sleeping hours loving on our kids.
Monday isn't that far away, is it??
